NWA 6870 is an awesome carbonaceous chondrite that has been classified (provisional) as a CV3.
I knew this was going to be something nice when I started going through the stones from this find.
This group of meteorites offered us one of the largest (if not the largest) CAI that has ever been found. While that stone has since been sent to researchers for study, there is other stones from this fall I am happy to make available for sale.
There was 1950 grams of this meteorite found near the Algerian boarder in 2011.
Dr. Tony Irving did the classification for me and a sample is currently being sent to have additional testing done (oxygen isotope) to determine if this is an anomalous CV3, similar to NWA 1465.
